The Slow Boat, Puerto Colon

On Saturday 5th June, I am appearing at the Slow Boat, Puerto Colon.  It is a Chinese Restaurant, so I hope I don´t have to sing in Chinese!  It is next to the Geordie Pride where I have done a couple of gigs.  Will keep you posted on how it goes!

Last night went very well.  Quite a few people came down to see me.  It was a nice atmosphere.  The bar is very nice and it was so nice to be back on the seafront again with the lovely views!  It was also a very warm night so it was nice to be outside on a terrace again.

I will be appearing at the Marco Polo bar/restaurant on the seafront just along from the Hyde Park Corner and below the Berlin Bar on THURSDAY 3rd June.  It is a really nice bar which has been recently refurbished.  The owner, Miguel, is very nice and is really pleased to have me there.  It is a lovely setting on the seafront.  The food looks good and the place is clean and tidy.  Hopefully will see some of you there!

I was at the Geordie Pride again last night as there were quite a few people asking me to do it again. We had a great night. It was Julie´s birthday so we had a bit of a party. The atmosphere was really good and the place was full! The owner is also a musician and he got up and did a bit too. The food in Geordie Pride is really good. We often have our Sunday dinner there.

Party night on 27th May

Have been busy working in our new apartment. Havent been looking for a job yet, but have been out and about. Went past the Drop Inn on Saturday night and it was the quietest I have ever seen it. Only about four people in! So the cabaret is not really working at the moment in there. We went to the Berlin Bar where it was very busy as they had a party on for the football. Last Saturday I did a private party for the owner of the Berlin bar. It was an 8 course meal for 12 people and I played accoustic guitar and sang around the table. It was a lovely evening and everyone enjoyed it. Its a great idea and very personal for those there.

On Thursday 27th May, I will be singing in the GEORDIE PRIDE in Puerto Colon. We are having a bit of party night so if you read this and you are around pop in!! The Geordie Pride has recently been taken over by new owners and the food is excellent and the drink prices very reasonable. Only 1 euro a pint before 8pm!!

Chaos in Tenerife due to Volcanic Ash!

Well, its absolute chaos here in Tenerife. Many people have been stranded here and still dont know when they will be going back home. We have been busy trying to help people get flights and sort out accommodation etc. Hopefully, things will start happening now and people will be able to get home now.
We have a large group of stranded passengers over the last few nights in the Drop Inn. Its strange how everyone is so friendly when a disaster strikes. Everyone sticks together and trys to help each other.

Line Dancing in the Drop Inn

I would just like to clarify that Line Dancers are very welcome at the Drop Inn. There seems to have been a few rumours going round that they are not welcome and that I do not want them in the bar. This is complete rubbish and I always try to sing and play music for line dancers when they are in the bar. I have been working with line dancing in Tenerife since 1992 so I am hardly going to say goodbye to all my long standing clients! If line dancers come in the bar and want to hear anything special then please ask me. We can also make more room by moving tables if necessary.

Obviously we have to cater for everyone and all nationalities as you cannot run a business in any other way in a holiday resort. I try to play for everyone and make everyone welcome.

So please feel free to Line Dance if that is what you wish to do. EVERYONE IS WELCOME!!

Drop Inn last night

It has been very busy in the Drop Inn over Xmas and New Year.  Every night seems like a party night.  The atmosphere has been very good.  There are all types of people coming in and from all different countries.  Thanks for all your continued support and a Happy New Year to everyone!

Today we have been to Elsies birthday party.  She has her party here every year.   Tonight we will be celebrating in the Drop Inn, no doubt.

Drop Inn Xmas Staff Meal

These are some photos from our staff meal from the Drop Inn.  The owner, Gaspar, took us all to Rodeo Restaurant which is an Argentian style restaurant serving a lovely buffet and the waiters come round constantly with different cuts of meat.  We had a lovely lunch.  Thanks to Gaspar!

Hope you all had a good Xmas. We had a great time in the Drop Inn. It was a fantastic atmosphere over the Xmas period and very busy. Tonight should be another great night as we have had lots of reservations. Should be very lively! Happy New Year to you all!

Busy in the Drop Inn

It has been very busy over the last week in the Drop Inn. Normally it does go a bit quieter before Christmas, but so far this has not happened yet in the Drop Inn! People seem to be having a great time and enjoying themselves. We will be having some fun and party nights over the Christmas and New Year period.
